Hope Reins in Texas

“Discovering Hope as Big as the Texas Sky”

Stronger Than the Storm

This song was created for the 2025 Texas flood victims. Over 100 victims ranging from ages 1 to 91 were lost and their families devastated, including the lives of the girls attending Camp Mystic. We present the heart and words of David the king and psalmist to provide the hope that is necessary in times of trial and loss.

Our Services

Hope Reins in Texas is a 501c(3) non-profit equestrian center located in Bulverde, Texas. We serve the greater San Antonio, Boerne, and New Braunfels areas, desiring to provide professional equine assisted activities that reflect the living hope that we have found.

  • Hippotherapy, deriving its name from the Greek word for horse (“hippo”), provides physical, occupational, or speech therapies with the assistance of equine movement. Hope Reins offers hippotherapy provided by Jessica Porter, Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Within the use of hippotherapy, and specifically the use of physical therapies on horseback, the therapist is able to use the horse’s dynamic movements as a tool to benefit the patient and achieve therapy goals.

  • Adaptive lessons provided by Hope Reins are offered to individuals with special needs and Wounded Warriors in order to benefit their emotional, spiritual, physical, cognitive, and social well-being. In these lessons, the sport of riding and horsemanship are taught by certified professionals and adaptations are guided by our Director of Physical Therapy, Dr. Jessica Porter, DPT.

  • We provide able-bodied and special needs summer camp opportunities for boys and girls where they learn about horses, relationships, and their Creator.

Our Special Hope Camps provide the opportunity for those affected by disability of all ages to enjoy a camp atmosphere under the supervision of listened medical and industry professionals.

Our able-bodied camps provide outreach the community, as well as to special needs families, where their siblings can attend. We also educate teenagers as special Helper Camps to be helpers for our Special Hope Camp

When the road looks rough ahead, remember the Man upstairs and the word HOPE.

Hang onto both and tough it out.

When the road gets tough, the tough ride horses.

  • I can not express how AMAZING this ranch is. My son attended a summer camp here last week. He was taught how to be a cowboy, so many things…… the days were jam packed with horsemanship, art, music and all the things boys love. All of this was taught while delivering a message of kindness and Christ[.]

  • Our memory care facility, Bella Groves’, experience at Hope Reins has been nothing short of a blessing. The staff have a heart for the Lord that is exceedingly apparent.[...] They created an environment where our residents could experience beautiful moments with their loved ones by their sides.[...] We cannot WAIT to go back.
